Reopening of the Duntryleague Mansion Porte Cochere

Following the  Duntryleague Mansion Foundation Limited AGM and refreshments a crowd gathered for the re-opening of the refurbished porte cochere at the main entrance.

Attendees included The Hon Rick Colless MLC Parliamentary Secretary for Natural Resources and Western NSW and Mrs Colless; Phil Donato, State Member for Orange; Russell Turner, Orange City Councillor and Mrs Diane Turner;  Brad Bentley, builder and Mrs Bentley Snr.; and all the Foundation Members and friends who attended the AGM.

Apologies were received from the Premier of NSW, The Hon. Gladys Berejiklian MP; Hon Gabrielle Upton, State Member for Heritage; The Hon Andrew Gee, Federal Member for Calare; Reg Kidd, the Mayor of Orange; Glenn Mortimer, building contractor and his wife Lynn.

The Duntryleague Mansion Foundation Limited, Chairman, John Cook welcomed the crowd gathered at the site and thanked the Member for Orange, Phil Donato for securing a State grant of $30,000 to help cover the cost of the $48,000 refurbishment of the porte cochere.  He thanked the builder and his team for an excellent job and the people who made donations towards the project.

The State Parliamentarians present both congratulated the Foundation for its objective to restore and maintain the historic building and wished the Foundation success in its endeavours to restore and refurbish the whole building.

A ribbon was untied by The Hon Rick Colless and the Hon, Phil Donato to mark the re-opening of the porte cochere.
