Members of the Golf Club and wider community gathered on Sunday to hear John Cook and John Kierath present preliminary plans drawn up by Lucas Stapleton Johnson to refurbish and restore the mansion at Duntryleague.
Lucas Stapleton Johnson is a firm of Sydney-based architects which specialises in restoring, adapting, and adding to heritage buildings, as well as heritage advice and conservation planning.
Cost estimates will be completed over the next couple of weeks and it is expected to be between $5million and $6million.
The Duntryleague Mansion Foundation is working hard to secure government grants for the project, however, it will need to provide a minimum of 25% of the overall costs.
We will need to raise between $1.25 million and $1.5 million to ensure the future of this city, state and national icon.
We need to work hard now to raise money to help increase the likelihood of success of our grant applications.
Over the coming months, the Duntryleague Mansion Foundation will be announcing various fundraising initiatives. Please support the Duntyleague Mansion Foundation wherever you can.
It is a privilege for us to be the custodians of such a rich piece of our history and a beautifully restored Duntryleague Mansion will benefit the whole of the community.
Tax-deductible donations can be made to the Duntryleague Mansion Foundation via the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) website.
