Porte Cochere project commences

The repairs to the “Porte Cochere” have begun.

After 142 years this grand entrance to the Duntryleague Mansion is receiving a much needed restoration.

The repairs are slowly progressing despite the difficult Orange winter. Now that the Porte Cochere roof has been removed, the damage to the timber after 142 years of weathering is clearly visible. The main reason being, the drainage from the roof had been going down through the cast iron pillars. Glen Mortimer and his team are working carefully to replace and rebuild the old roof and its supports.

Work should be finished in a few weeks, depending on the weather.
