Member for Orange, Phil Donato, announced a grant of $40,000 to repair damage to the…
There has been a hive of activity around the Mansion over 2020/21 Summer months. Repairs to the southern side of the first floor verandah have been completed using funds provided by the State Government. Volunteers have enhanced the arrival aspect to the main entrance with refurbishment of the gardens below the verandah.
Inside, the Dalton Room has been redecorated. The walls were freshened up with paint and new curtains were hung over the windows, which capture views of the golf course. New lights adorn the ceiling and walls creating a much lighter, fresher ambience. New furniture compliments the look.
To celebrate this achievement and with a nod to St Patrick’s Day in March, a dinner was held in the Dalton Dining room to thank the people who have donated to the Mansion Foundation. Special Guest at the dinner was the Irish Ambassador, Breandan O’Qualie and his wife Carmel. A delicious meal was provided by the Golf Club catering team and local wines were served throughout the evening. The Irish Ambassador spoke of the beauty surrounding the Orange area and how the Dalton’s no doubt felt at ‘home’ in this region due to the topographical similarities with their Irish homeland.
