Ladies Golfing News – October

How lovely to see so many ladies returning to the field after a somewhat cold and drawn out winter. There are a lot of  events coming up between now and Christmas so we are looking forward to seeing you all.

Points of Interest

  • Gay Stone was the September Monthly Medal Winner with a very impressive nett 65.
  • The fundraiser for drought relief in conjunction with Captain v Presidents day raised $250.

  • Finals Day at Duntryleague was a great success. Thank you to all the ladies who provided food on the day. Also thank you to Beryl who organised and donated prizes for the raffle that raised $428. Wendy Reid won division 2 with a magnificent 44 points and Sally Heigh was runner up in division 3 with 35 points. Congratulations.

  • The Sadie Thomas Memorial Day was sponsored by Aileen and Alan Ralston. Winners were Carol Reynolds and Meg Kierath with an impressive 51 points. Runners up were Lindy Simpson and Robin Thompson. Thank you for the beautiful flowers.

  • Congratulations to Michelle Paul who had wins at both Country Week and the Nelsons Bay Classic. Gay Stone was also successful in Nelsons Bay.
  • The gardens are looking beautiful again. A new Crepe Murtle has been planted in the garden on the 13th. Thank you to the Goodacre family for your donation.
  • Vets Tournament was again successful . Well done to all the competitors. Gay Stone (the girl in a very purple patch) was runner up in the 36 hole even with 75 points, Val Pollack was Div 1 winner on Day 1 with 43 points and Pam Evans was Div 2 winner with 43 points.
  • Ladies Tournament. Good luck to those competing. If you have some spare time we are looking for helpers to man the tent, morning and afternoon spotters and bunker rakers. You can contact Maria or the sheets will be in the ladies room. Thanks for you support.
  • Melbourne Cup Lunch. Please make sure you pay for your lunch well in advance to ensure the kitchen has correct numbers.
