Duntryleague F.O.O.D Week Plate 2019 Wrap-up

The 2019 Duntryleague F.O.O.D Week plate finished with a signature F.O.O.D week 3-course dinner last night. A chance to announce and congratulate all the winners, but also a chance to celebrate the amazing food bowl that we are so lucky to live in.

Chef Pramod and his team received a rousing ovation at the completion of the meal. Mandagery Creek Venison and Cowra Lamb the heroes of the alternate drop menu specially crafted by Pramod for this event.

The feeling in the room was jubilant. Whilst not everyone was happy with their own golf (let’s face it – golfers rarely are), everyone had a fabulous time over the tournament, the condition of the course given the trying drought conditions was heralded and everyone coming together for the final dinner proved an exceptional way to finish off the event and celebrate 3 days of golf.

Club Captain Dennis Schultz was MC for the night. The Mayor of Orange, Cr. Reg Kidd welcomed the many visitors to Orange with participants traveling from all parts of NSW, Victoria, and QLD. Both he and President John Cook paid tribute to the essential role of volunteers in the community and highlighted the tremendous band of volunteers who contribute to the success of Duntryleague. The tournament organising committee, especially Helen Corby, Shirley Doherty and Pat Bradford were applauded for their tireless work, organisational skills and attention to detail.

The F.O.O.D. Week Tournament would not be what it is without the amazing support of some very significant sponsors. WIN Television, Printhie Wines, Angullong Wines, Ross Hill Wines, and BiteRiot give it an especially local and F.O.O.D week feel. Also thanks to Alarmed Self Storage, Inside Golf and West Orange Motors for your ongoing and generous support.

Congratulations to Maureen Cook for winning the 2019 Duntryleague F.O.O.D Week Plate with 107 points over 54 holes. Maureen now becomes the first dual winner of the event. She receives a matching platter from Regency Jewellers to go with her 2016 title.
