We had a very dry April with only 13 mm and subsequently, irrigation used 4…
We’ve had some great rainfall over the past few months:
Solid tyning of the fairways has been completed to relieve compaction from cart use.
Thank you to everyone for adhering to teeing up on the 2nd and 8th fairways when the fairways have been really wet. Also for keeping carts completely off the 2nd and 8th fairways (and all other fairways as much as possible). It is important we continue to protect the course as much as possible, the fairways still need a lot of care to bounce back from the long period of drought.
Plans are in place to extend the men’s tee on the 3rd hole (in a southerly direction), and also move the cart path southerly / off to the left of the fairway (around the bottom of the ladies tee) to meet up with the cart path near the 5th green.
Our regular winter course management continues – a preventative spray program for winter fusarium and feeding and nitro-iron addition to greens to keep their colour over the cooler months.
Work continues on our bunkers – moving sand to playing areas, sodding entry and exit areas, cleaning pits and raking bunkers.
The Thursday helpers continue to do a fantastic job cleaning up dead trees and dropped debris around the course. Work also continues on repairing where tree roots are encroaching on the 1st and 2nd greens.
The September greens renovation is scheduled for 14th and 15th September.
COVID course conditions remain:
– no rakes in bunkers – preferred lie applies
– do not touch flagsticks
